Downtown Farmers' Market Saturday

July 02, 2014

Cedar Rapids – The Downtown Farmers’ Market, produced by the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, is back downtown Saturday with more than 200 vendors, entertainment and more. The market is from 7:30 a.m. to noon.

A reminder for those heading downtown July 4 to watch the fireworks and celebrate - don’t park your car overnight on downtown streets. Cars parked in Saturday’s market venue will be towed. Parking is available in the downtown ramps.

Saturday’s Presenting Day Sponsor is University of Iowa Community Credit Union. Stop by their booth at the corner of Third Street and Second Avenue (vendor stalls No. 126 and 127). UICCU representatives will be giving away reusable market bags and Herky will walk through the market.

The market theme on Saturday is Sports Day and the Cedar Rapids Kernels and Cedar Rapids Roller Girls will be in Greene Square Park.

The Diplomats, Theatre Cedar Rapids, and participants of Theatre Cedar Rapids’ Play in a Day will perform on the Main Stage.

New this year - and proving to be extremely popular – is the free trolley available to check out the NewBo City Market. The trolley, sponsored by Transamerica, provides free transportation to market-goers to travel between the two market venues. The trolley stop at the Downtown Farmers’ Market is at Third Street and Fourth Avenue – look for the signs at the corner.

The Downtown Farmers’ Market is the first and third Saturday of the month from June through September. To find out about market vendors, performances and more, visit crdowntownmarket.com and flip through the interactive market guide.
