Mayoral Forum with Runoff Candidates Announced

Nov 08, 2017

The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, Hawkeye Area Labor Council AFL-CIO and KCRG-TV9 will team up once again to host a forum with the runoff candidates to succeed Ron Corbett as mayor of Cedar Rapids. The forum will be held from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m. on Monday, November 13 at the Cedar Rapids Public Library’s Whipple Auditorium.

Both runoff candidates, Monica Vernon and Brad Hart, have confirmed their attendance.

The forum is free, but exclusive for members of the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance and Hawkeye Area Labor Council AFL-CIO to attend. Registration will be required. Members of both organizations can register online here. Registrants will have the option to submit questions at the point of registration to potentially be used by moderators during the forum.

“The Economic Alliance and the Hawkeye Area Labor Council AFL-CIO share many of the same goals when it comes to local government,” said Doug Neumann, Executive Director of the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance.

“We look forward to hosting this important forum for both our memberships to get to know the runoff candidates more in depth next week,” said Rick Moyle, Executive Director of Hawkeye Area Labor Council AFL-CIO.

A live stream of the forum will available on KCRG-TV9’s website, and later rebroadcast on channels 9.2 and 9.3.
