Technology Association of Iowa and Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance Announce 2018 Cedar Rapids TechBrew AM Schedules
Jan 19, 2018
The Technology Association of Iowa (TAI), the statewide voice for Iowa’s technology industry, announced today the Corridor 2018 TechBrew AM series schedule for Cedar Rapids hosted in collaboration with the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance and the Iowa City series presented by ImOn Communications and hosted in collaboration with Iowa City Area Development Group (ICAD) at MERGE.
“We’re fortunate that our partners, ICAD Group and the Economic Alliance, recognize the important relationship between company and community. TechBrew AM conversations demonstrate that all companies, regardless of industry, are tech companies and establish Iowa as a technology state,” said Brian Waller, President of the TAI. “We are excited to profile 12 community and technology leaders in the Corridor who make a great impact on the state’s economy.”
TechBrew AM events are informal networking events for entrepreneurs, technologists, funders, business professionals and government leaders. TechBrews in the Corridor have existed for several years rotating monthly between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. In this new model introduced in the Corridor in 2017, TAI President, Brian Waller conducts interviews with local technology executives who share their favorite music, discuss their career path, and talk about what’s most important for Iowa’s technology community moving forward.
“We’re excited to continue hosting TechBrew AMs at the Economic Alliance with our valued partners at the Technology Association of Iowa,” said Doug Neumann, Executive Director of the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance. “We look forward to more Cedar Rapids business leaders attending these unique and innovative events in 2018.
Corridor TechBrew AM events occur on the second Tuesday of every month at 8am alternating between the two cities. The first Iowa City TechBrew AM was held on January 9 and the first Cedar Rapids TechBrew AM of 2018 will be on Tuesday, February 13 at 8 a.m. at the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance.
“TAI understands that to build and retain a strong economy in Iowa we need a diversity of people, thought and companies and they truly work to promote these ideals at TechBrew events. They are not afraid to speak the truth about where Iowa needs to improve, especially in empowering female leaders, and we are honored at ICAD to work with them” said Mark Nolte, President at ICAD.
TechBrew events are free and open to the public. Register to attend at technologyiowa.org/events.
