Agribusiness Takes Center Stage at Annual Celebration of Ag on March 18

Jan 14, 2019

Did you know that Iowa is the #1 producer of eggs, corn and pork in the country? As one of our state's largest industries, agriculture plays an important role in the economic success of our region. The importance of agribusiness takes center stage at the 33rd annual Celebration of Agriculture on March 18 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cedar Rapids Convention Complex, following National Ag Day on March 14. The evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a reception, followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. and a program beginning at 8:00 p.m.

Tyne Morgan, Host of the U.S. Farm Report at Farm Journal Media will keynote the event. U.S. Farm Report is a nationally syndicated weekly program with a focus on agriculture and agribusiness. In 2014, Morgan was named the first female host of U.S. Farm Report. After spending years on the road as AgDay and U.S. Farm Journal Report National Reporter, she welcomed the role of Host. Today, you can see Morgan bringing viewers the latest agriculture and market related news by diving into stories impacting not only farmers and ranchers, but rural America.

Nearly 700 people are estimated to attend this annual celebration. Tickets to attend Celebration of Ag are $40 per individual and $400 for a table of ten and can be purchased here.

For attendees that purchase a table and anticipate having extra seats, they can consider donating these seats to area youth studying agriculture. To donate, contact RaeAnn Barnhart at 319.377.9839 or raeannb@iastate.edu. For questions about Celebration of Agriculture, please contact Luann Pisarik at 319.624.2263 and luann@jlfarmakis.com.

The Economic Alliance is proud to support Celebration of Ag with staff representation on the Celebration of Ag planning committee each year.
