Cedar Rapids Bike Share Program Seasonal Closure

Nov 19, 2019

Wondering what happens to the Cedar Rapids bike share bikes and scooters now that cold weather has arrived? The Cedar Rapids bike share program is closing for the season. E-bikes and e-scooters are being picked up by vendor Veoride, who will store them over the winter months.

The e-bikes will be made available next spring as soon as weather allows. The pilot scooter program will be evaluated over the winter months to help determine if scooters are a positive addition to the bike share fleet.

The first year of this program proved to be quite popular! As of October 6, the total system (bikes and scooters combined) saw over 27,000 rides, with on average 165 rides per day. Thank you to the City of Cedar Rapids for sharing this information.
