34th Celebration of Agriculture on April 1, 2020

Dec 17, 2019

The 34th Annual Celebration of Agriculture dinner will take place on Wednesday, April 1 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Downtown Cedar Rapids. This year's Celebration of Agriculture dinner will feature a keynote address from Jann Carl (pictured right), co-host of the syndicated television show, Small Town Big Deal.

Shining a spotlight on fascinating events, places and people from all over the United States, Small Town Big Deal brings national attention to small towns across America. Currently residing in Los Angeles, Carl’s roots in the Midwest shaped her formative years. In 1982 she was named the U.S. Maid of Cotton and worked alongside farmers, industry leaders and the USDA in the cotton industry, promoting U.S. grown cotton across America and the world. The opportunity, Carl says, was tremendous to see how one crop influenced so many people’s lives in so many different industries.

Carl’s career in journalism and television has earned her three Emmys. She was part of the team at Entertainment Tonight as senior correspondent interviewing A-list stars and newsmakers, and co-hosting the national Labor Day MDA callathon with Jerry Lewis for nearly 20 years including serving on the MDA board and as a national vice president. She says her best title however, is that of ‘Mom’ to her two children, Katherine and Matthew.
