Welcoming New Innovation Council and Policy Board Members
Jan 17, 2020
As the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance works to drive economic, workforce and population growth strategies and help businesses succeed, we certainly do not complete this mission alone. In fact, we do so with the guidance and influence of many members that sit on our Policy Board and Innovation Councils. Welcome and thank you to the many new Policy Board and Innovation Council members assisting us in our efforts this year.
Policy Board - Serves as the Economic Alliance's board of directors, setting policy and overseeing the budget. NOTE: Ingredion Plant Manager Roxie Simon's last day at Ingredion was January 24, and she is no longer a member of the Policy Board. We thank Roxie for her work in our community and wish her the best in the future.
Large Investor Council - Consists of representatives from organizations in the top three investment levels at the Economic Alliance.
Business Support Innovation Council - Focuses on the core function of Business Support, which is dedicated to economic growth and business success, particularly of small and locally owned businesses, by supporting employers through networking, business support programs, initiatives and professional development programs.
Community Development Innovation Council - Focuses on the core function of Community Development, which grows core central districts in Cedar Rapids and supports surrounding communities. The council works to implement strategic plans for core districts, and also to inform and educate businesses.
Economic Development Innovation Council - Focuses on the core function of Economic Development & Workforce which grows and retains local business and workforce.
