ICR IOWA: New Lifestyle Materials Available for Recruiters

Attracting talent from outside Iowa City-Cedar Rapids (ICR) takes more than just the promotion of a job….it takes the promotion of our region as a great place to live.
A perception study conducted by the Iowa Economic Development Authority in 2019 shed some light on the challenges our employers face in this battle for talent. Study participants shared their view of Iowa, using words like country, corn, boring, nothing to do, lacking diversity, and slow pace. And while they perceived Iowa as having a low cost of living and a safe environment, participants didn’t think we had good job opportunities or recreation.
ICR IOWA’s marketing campaign is focused on positioning ICR as one region with just the kind of lifestyle in high demand by Millennials and Generation Z. It showcases places, people, and activities that may be unexpected to those who have never been to our region. Images and content include urban settings, unique activities (beach time anyone?), and our growing arts and culture scene. Innovative companies and educational programs are also highlights of a region that some describe as the “Austin of Iowa.” We kinda like that.

ICR IOWA also has a new collection of print materials recruiters can use including a candidate booklet, career fair rack card, and career fair pull up banner.
