Economic Alliance Announces New Event Planner

The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance announced on March 3, 2020 that Ellie Evans has been hired as the organization’s Event Planner. Evans will begin her new position on Monday, March 23 in a part-time capacity and will transition to full-time in early May, following her graduation from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies.
Evans will be responsible for developing events that align with the strategic goals and direction of the Economic Alliance. This role plans and oversees Economic Alliance events including the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market, Market After Dark, Annual Meeting, Good Morning Cedar Rapids, Cedar Rapids Restaurant Week, public policy events and more.
Evans brings event planning, communications and development experience from a variety of internships and volunteer opportunities, including an event planning internship with the Economic Alliance in the summer of 2019.
