Spring Blooms on the Way for Czech Village/New Bohemia District
Jun 01, 2020
Spring blooms are on the way for the Czech Village/New Bohemia Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District (SSMID)!
This spring, annual flowers will be placed in planters throughout the District, with additional perennials planted in Czech Village. The District also plans to replace the top soil in Czech Village planters to help the flowers thrive, as it has been many years since the top soil has been replaced. The District is working with local business BLOOMS Garden Center to complete this project.
Increased streetscape aesthetics is one of three top priorities for the Czech Village/New Bohemia SSMID in 2020. In addition to expanding the use of existing planters and decor to create a cohesive and complementary look across the District, other streetscape aesthetic projects include leading the 16th Avenue SW streetscape plan, and discussing addition and the enhancement of benches, signage and lighting. Increased public art and continued District communication are additional priorities for the District in 2020.
