Buy. Give. Grow. Makes Local Impact in 2020 and Beyond

Jan 29, 2021

We bought. We gave. And we are growing.

The holiday focused buy local initiative Buy. Give. Grow. presented by GreenState Credit Union, helped support over 230+ local community businesses and organizations this holiday season. The initiative built off the momentum from the Rally C.A.P. campaign and was fueled by the mindset that our local economy needs support from our incredible community now more than ever.

Our community did not disappoint. The online community of more than19k was incredibly active, posting and sharing their local support in the form of images, recommendations, reviews and beyond. In a time when we are encouraged to be apart, the digital space continues to be a powerful way to keep us all united and connected.

Many businesses have felt the support of Buy. Give. Grow. and are hopeful that the support will continue now that the holidays have passed.

“If 2020 has taught us nothing else, it has taught us that there is no place on earth I’d rather go through a plague and natural disasters. I am more thankful every day to live in Cedar Rapids, IA!”

- Laurel Williams, Great Harvest Bread Company

“The small business and entrepreneurial community is very strong in Cedar Rapids. Everyone is always looking for ways to help make our community vibrant.”

- Melissa Miller, Office Evolution

While the 2020 year may be behind us, continuing to support all of these local businesses, organizations and nonprofits will be just as important moving into the 2021 year. There is still an abundance of uncertainty ahead of us all, but one thing is for sure, when we continue to support and champion each other, incredible things happen. For a list of Buy. Give. Grow. businesses that you can support right now, visit
