Downtown CR Dollars Extended Through March 31

Feb 15, 2021

Last year, we launched the Downtown CR Dollars initiative to provide stimulus and incentives for shopping locally in downtown Cedar Rapids. Our community has felt the threat of the coronavirus pandemic, and our local economy has struggled. Downtown CR Dollars, supported by the Cedar Rapids Downtown Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District (SSMID), aims to make a direct, positive economic impact for our local restaurants, shops and retail, specifically in Downtown Cedar Rapids.

Since the program launched just over two months ago, over 190 participants have successfully submitted more than $50k in local spending receipts from Downtown businesses. More than 430 gift cards have been distributed to participating individuals who successfully submitted receipts to dozens of Downtown establishments. With the success of economic impact, the initiative has been extended through March 31!
