The Economic Alliance Team Continues to Grow
Aug 19, 2021
Recognizing the thriving growth and development in the region and the increasing need for an improved workforce, the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance announced it is transitioning Ellie Evans from event planner into the role of workforce specialist. Evans will focus on the attraction and retention of workforce in the region and serve as the organization’s lead expert on this increasingly important area. The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance is also adding to its team with the hire of Erin Foley as programs specialist and Maddix Stovie as event planner.
Evans is no stranger to the Economic Alliance, its members and the community, having helped coordinate many high-profile events like the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market, Market After Dark, Restaurant Week, Good Morning Cedar Rapids, and the Economic Alliance’s Annual Meeting.
The Economic Alliance also announced the naming of Maddix Stovie to succeed Evans as event planner. Stovie and Evans will work together on upcoming events like the Downtown Farmers Market and Market After Dark in upcoming weeks to ensure all events run at the high standard our vendors and community have come to expect.
Stovie is a graduate of Cornell College with entrepreneurial experience in developing and marketing her own product lines, something she has in common with many Downtown Farmers Market vendors.
Erin Foley assumes the role of program specialist at the Economic Alliance. Erin will be responsible for identifying trends and developing programs that impact and serve the Economic Alliance and its many members. Erin is from Cedar Rapids and graduated from the University of Iowa in 2020. Erin may look familiar to many Hawkeye fans as she was a member of the award-winning University of Iowa Dance Team.
“Maddix, Erin and Ellie all bring a refreshing energy to the Alliance,” said Neumann. “Expect many exciting and engaging programs and events coming soon from this team.”
