Angela Linden has had a less than traditional path to becoming the owner of several retail and lifestyle shops in Cedar Rapids and Coralville. Before becoming a business owner, Angela rose in the ranks in the healthcare industry, working first as a registered nurse, eventually moving into healthcare management and most recently as chief executive officer for a rural hospital, long term care center, physician clinic and substance abuse and treatment center. Then a shift in career came.
“I decided to invest in two businesses that I enjoy personally. Massage Heights Iowa River Landing opened in 2013, Massage Heights Cedar Rapids and WineStyles Cedar Rapids opened in 2016.”
WineStyles® Tasting Station® was born out of the original WineStyles concept, which was founded in 2002. Angela is a franchise owner of both WineStyles and Massage Heights. According to the International Franchise Association, within Iowa, there are over 10,000 franchises accounting for 4.1 Billion in Iowa’s GDP. Franchises provide impact our local economy too.
“A common misconception about franchising is that the business isn’t locally owned,” said Linden. “The truth is the opposite. As owners our blood, sweat and tears go into building our business day after day. We’re choosing to belong to something bigger, a team, a family of like-minded individuals representing a brand name.”
