Growth in our economy is driven by hard work, creative initiative, and investment right here in our community. Developing our workforce requires telling our stories and getting young people interested and involved in the region and our local community.
Local companies have the largest impact on regional business culture. You don’t have to look hard to see the physical impact The Ahmann Companies, led by Joe Ahmann, is having in our region.
After attending Kirkwood Community College, Joe began Ahmann Design Inc. in 1991. He was 25 years old. Fast forward to 2018 and The Ahmann Companies boasts many accolades such as being named one of the Fastest Growing Companies in the Corridor five years in a row and as one of the Corridor’s Coolest Places to Work. Additionally, Joe Ahmann was named as Entrepreneur of the Year by the Corridor Business Journal in 2015. No surprise that one of their core values is to “Deliver Above Expectations.”
Ahmann has designed, built, redeveloped, owns and manages several property developments in Hiawatha and Cedar Rapids, specifically in Cedar Rapids’ Downtown, Kingston Village and the NewBo districts. Joe also continues to develop The Fountains in Cedar Rapids where he has master-planned a 19-acre mixed-use community on the corner of Blairs Ferry and Edgewood Roads. The development of these projects is integral to the growth of Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha and surrounding communities.
“The unique opportunities that were presented in Downtown Cedar Rapids’ revitalization efforts post Flood of 2008 has allowed the community continued growth and to thrive in the face of adversity,” said Ahmann.
Ahmann Companies too has grown over the years now including Compass Commercial Services, Fusion Architects and Pivot Real Estate.
