Business Support Programming Presentation Application

The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance’s monthly Business Support programming is focused on engaging and connecting small and locally-owned businesses through networking, business development and professional development.


Our programs connect experts in a variety of fields directly to our members. In 2019, programs will be held on the third Thursday of each month from 8:00 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. at the Economic Alliance. Additional sessions may be included throughout the year, as necessary.

Presenter Considerations

Economic Alliance members offer unique expertise and perspective on a wide variety of topics. Members now have opportunity to learn from these local experts, or even be one of them! When considering sharing knowledge with fellow member businesses, please keep in mind that each of our monthly programs requires a clear and concise topic, paired with key takeaways, which can resonate with businesses from many industries. The program's purpose is educational, and is not designed as a direct promotion of goods or services.

The 75 minute program can be formatted however the presenter sees fit and the Economic Alliance will provide any equipment or handouts needed.

Application Requirements

For consideration, your business must be a 2019 member of the Economic Alliance. To apply, you must complete the application form below. Applications will be accepted and scheduled on a rolling basis.

Benefits of Presenting

If selected to present, you and your business will be featured on the Economic Alliance's online Event Calendar as well as our Business Support Programming e-blast and other Economic Alliance communications that are distributed to nearly 1,200 member businesses.

Presenters are encouraged to promote their presentation on their website and social media platforms. We will provide a digital graphic for this use. Presenters are also welcomed to send personal invites to other Economic Alliance members.

Selection Process

The selection process will be based on the following:

  1. Meeting all application requirements
  2. Overall programming diversity among the other applications
  3. Relevance of the topic
  4. Quality of the presentation outline submitted via the application form

If your application is chosen, you will be sent a list of program dates to select from. Once you have accepted your presentation date, you are committed to preparing all content and materials as well as attending the event. We're compiling the 2019 Business Support program schedule now. Priority is given to applications received by Thursday, December 20, so don’t wait to apply.
