ImpactCR Advisory Board Application
Thank you for your interest in applying for the ImpactCR Advisory Board! Below are the expectations and commitments that each applicant must agree to. Once you have read through, and have agreed to, each of these, please fill in the application for consideration to serve.
1. Board members are expected to actively participate in ImpactCR by attending both board and committee meetings throughout the year.
- a. Board Meetings: Held monthly from noon-1 p.m.
- b. Committee Meetings: Held monthly at day/time chosen by committee.
2. Board Members are expected to attend a minimum of 4 ImpactCR events, in addition to the annual Make Your Mark celebration in November.
3. Attendance at our strategic planning session is required by all board members. If you have a legitimate reason to be absent, please be sure your ideas and feedback are shared with the Economic Alliance liaison ahead of the session.
4. Each board member will select a committee they wish to participate in and be an active member of that committee. Committees will meet once a month to complete their tasks and reach their goals.
5. Board members are alert to community concerns or needs and find ways to address them through evolution of program offerings.
6. Board members are expected to represent both themselves and ImpactCR in a professional, respectful, and responsible manner on all social media platforms and in public settings, including at ImpactCR events and within the broader community. When posting about ImpactCR programs, events, or initiatives, board members should ensure their content reflects the mission, values, and inclusive spirit of the organization. Personal opinions expressed online or in public should not be presented as official positions of ImpactCR.
If a situation arises in which a board member’s online behavior, social media content, or public conduct is deemed inappropriate, harmful to the reputation of ImpactCR, or misaligned with the organization’s values, the executive committee and the Economic Alliance program liaison reserve the authority to address the matter. This may include asking the board member to step down from their position to protect the integrity and mission of ImpactCR.
7. As a program of Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, ImpactCR and its programs will support the mission, goals and objectives of the Economic Alliance. Board members are expected to be familiar with and adherent to the organizations’ guidelines, policies and procedures.
8. Each member of the Board shall focus on ImpactCR independent of personal agendas or self-interest, and any potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed to the Board.
