Heidi’s holiday weekend with her family is a festive journey filled with local support at every turn. On Friday, they kick off the festivities with a family dinner at one of their local favs. The evening continues with a holiday performance downtown. Saturday starts with a caffeine boost, followed by cheering on Heidi’s son at a basketball game and celebrating their victory. Sunday involves a thoughtful stop for a holiday bouquet for the grandparents and a convenient delivery for Heidi’s work lunches. The weekend concludes with a team bonding gathering, adding a fun local touch to their holiday festivities!

Friday

5:00 p.m. After work, I meet my husband and sons at The Edison Pub & Eatery for dinner. There is something for everyone, from the mac and cheese for my boys to sesame chicken salad for me.
7:00 p.m.We head downtown to the Paramount Theatre to see one of Orchestra Iowa’s performances – Holiday Spectacular! It is one we look forward to every year, as it really gets us into the holiday spirit.

Saturday

8:00 a.m. What is a morning without coffee? We head to Dash Coffee Roasters in Marion for coffee and morning pastry to kick off the day.
10:00 a.m. Next, it’s to the Marion YMCA for my youngest’s son’s basketball game. He plays great, and we want to celebrate the W! So, we head over to Parlor City Pub & Eatery in the NewBo area.
1:00 p.m.After lunch we head over to Raygun to pick up some last-minute Christmas gifts for the family. Who doesn’t want a Captain Crunch t-shirt for Christmas?! After some shopping, we head home to regroup and change.
6:00 p.m.We meet up with family at La Cantina Bar & Grill to celebrate my older sister’s birthday. They have a great family atmosphere, and everyone is full when we head home for the evening.

Sunday

11:00 a.m. After church, we stop by Pierson’s Flower Shop to pick up a holiday flower bouquet to drop off at the grandparents to wish them happy holidays!
2:00 p.m.The KETO Kitchen delivers food I pre-ordered for the coming week lunches at work that works with my dietary restrictions – they help make it so easy!
5:00 p.m. We meet up with some of the youth basketball team at Quarter Barrel Arcade & Brewery for a team bonding gathering prior to the holiday break. We order lots of pizza and the players have a great time playing all the arcade games. What a fun weekend!
