Race for the Space finalists will present their business ideas LIVE on August 13 in downtown Cedar Rapids at CRST, 201 1st St SE, Suite 400 (fourth floor balcony)! A panel of judges will select the winner, announced that evening.
A storefront in downtown Cedar Rapids is waiting for the next big idea. Downtown Cedar Rapids in partnership with the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance has officially launched Race for the Space, a competitive opportunity designed to help a new or growing entrepreneur establish their business in the core of downtown. The winning business will receive six months of provided rent, entrepreneurial expert support, and connections to local business mentors, resources, and promotion.
What the Winner Receives:
- Six months of rent support in a downtown storefront
- Entreprenurial support from local experts
- Business mentorship and monthly check-ins
- Marketing and promotional support
- Access to a downtown network of community leaders, entrepreneurs, and customers
