Believe in CR Schools announced today the full public support of the Cedar Rapids City Government for the upcoming Cedar Rapids Community School District (CRCSD) bond referendum. A letter from Mayor O’Donnell and the entire Cedar Rapids City Council to the school district, offered these strong words of support:

“On behalf of the City of Cedar Rapids, Iowa Government, we are proud to express our full support for the Cedar Rapids Community School District’s (CRSCD) proposed bond referendum on the November 4, 2025 ballot. While the City and CRSCD are separate taxing entities, we share a common future. Strong cities need strong schools to support neighborhoods, stabilize housing, and preserve community character and vitality.”

Barbra Solberg, Believe in CR Schools Chair added, “We applaud the Mayor and City Council for their strong voice of support for the school bond. There is unity and solidarity across the board in support of our schools and students.” The Council’s letter of support continued, “together we urge every member of our community to support schools that reflect the excellence we envision for Cedar Rapids. A ‘YES’ vote on this bond measure is a commitment to the future our youth deserve – and an investment in our families, economy, and shared future.”

“A YES vote on November 4th, will ensure that students and teachers can enjoy safe, comfortable, welcoming, and accessible learning environments,” concluded Solberg. These endorsements add to the support from Hiawatha Mayor Steve Dodson and Palo Mayor Eric Van Kerckhove for the bond.
