Celebrate with us! The Grand Opening Gala for the new Cedar Rapids Public Library Busse Branch will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026. Tickets will go on sale in July.
The facility’s name honors the Busse Family who made a transformational $3.5 million gift to help close the Library Foundation’s $10 million Inspiring Big Dreams capital campaign. Located on the city’s west side, the new Cedar Rapids Public Library Busse Branch is nearly double the size of the Ladd Library, which it will replace. Its design includes larger collection spaces, a dedicated children’s library with program room, a new young adult library, large meeting rooms for community use, and more public computers. The library’s 14-acre campus includes the new Allsop Park, making it a destination for the entire community to enjoy.
