New Wellness Week Launches in Downtown Cedar Rapids: 5SeasonsFit Debuts June 22–28

May 21, 2025 | Community Development, Downtown Cedar Rapids

5 Seasons Fit

Downtown Cedar Rapids, in partnership with Big Grove Brewery, is proud to launch 5SeasonsFit, a brand-new wellness week designed to get the community moving, connected, and energized all summer long. The six-day event brings together the key elements of health—fitness, mental well-being, nutrition, spiritual health, and community engagement—through a wide range of free and family-friendly activities.

The event kicks off with a Family Fun Kick-Off Event on Sunday, June 22, in Greene Square, featuring live music, food trucks, local wellness vendors, a kid’s zone, and the opportunity to meet some of the instructors leading classes throughout the week.

From Sunday, June 22 through Saturday, June 28th, downtown will host:

  • Free expert-led group fitness classes at The Yard
  • A Pickleball Tournament hosted by Pickle Palace
  • A Golf Outing at Ellis Golf Course
  • A community run/walk event
  • Pop-up wellness activations and interactive experiences throughout the city center

“At the heart of 5SeasonsFit is the belief that health and wellness should be accessible, fun, and inclusive,” said Jennifar Bassett, District Program Manager for Downtown Cedar Rapids. “We’re creating a space where people feel supported and inspired, no matter their age, ability, or where they are on their wellness journey.”

The initiative is not just about movement, it’s about momentum. Hannah Coyle, Event Coordinator for Big Grove Brewery, added “We saw a real need for something that brings people together, gets them active, and reminds them how fun it is to be downtown. 5SeasonsFit encourages people to move their bodies, try new things, and support the incredible local businesses that make our city thrive.”

5SeasonsFit is presented by Downtown Cedar Rapids and Big Grove Brewery, with generous support from Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust, de Novo Marketing, Kepros Physical Therapy and Performance, Kingston Yard, The MedQuarter Regional Medical District, and Pickle Palace.

Multiple activities including the Family Fun Kick-Off event and fitness classes are free of charge, but registration is required. There is a cost associated with the pickle ball tournament and golf outing. View the full schedule and sign up for events at downtowncr.org/5sf.
