Sewer Equipment to Invest $3M in Expansion Creating 30 New Jobs
February 20, 2026 | Economic Development & Workforce
Sewer Equipment will centralize all fabrication operations into a production facility in Vinton. Under this proposed model, components manufactured at the Iowa facility would be shipped to the company’s plant in Dixon, IL for final assembly and testing.
The Iowa operation would support all product lines and incorporate the latest fabrication technology, establishing a Welding & Fabrication Center of Excellence to enhance quality, efficiency, and scalability. This centralized approach is designed to streamline operations, improve production consistency, and position the company for continued growth.
The expansion is expected to create 30 new jobs, of which 22 meet the wage of $24.15.
To support this expansion, the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance in partnership with Benton Development Group, the Iowa Economic Development Authority, and the City of Vinton worked together to assist Sewer Equipment to support their growth into Iowa. This collaboration reflects the region’s commitment to retaining and growing long-standing employers while driving job creation and strengthening our position in manufacturing.
“We are thrilled to see Sewer Equipment open in Iowa, and more specifically become a part of the Cedar Rapids Region,” said Juliet Abdel, President & CEO of the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance. “This expansion is a testament to our strong ties working as a regional development organization for the betterment of all our communities with a project that will bring quality jobs, long term economic impact, and build on prosperity in our region”.
“We’re grateful for the support from Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance and Benton Development Group as we take this next step,” said Pat Lyons, General Manager of Sewer Equipment facility in Vinton.
