Doug Neumann is in his 18th year at the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, where he has served as Communications Director, Downtown Director, Executive Vice President and now Executive Director.
His work in the Cedar Rapids area began more 30 years ago as a newspaper reporter and editor at The Gazette. He also has served on staff for the Mayor and City Council of the City of Cedar Rapids. His career highlights include numerous community development, public policy, communications and organizational initiatives that have helped shape the region.
Doug serves on the executive committee of the statewide Iowa Chamber Alliance, and also chairs the board of directors at Brucemore, Iowa’s only National Trust Historic Site. Among many civic and volunteer activities, he has served on the board of directors of the Linn County Housing Fund, the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, the Arc of East Central Iowa, the Cedar Rapids Kernels Foundation and the NewBo City Market Board.
Doug graduated with a degree in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Doug and his wife, Jen, have two college-aged daughters, Grace and Anna.
